Accessing Services

There are many ways to access exercise physiology services! Keep reading for some of the different rebate schemes that may apply and don't hesitate to reach out if you need more information or are unsure on how to discuss a referral with your General Practitioner or Fund Manager.

All potential clients are eligible to book in a FREE 15min discovery call with me to discuss their injuries, conditions, health concerns, goals and ability to access services so we can collaborate to find a suitable option.

Funding & Referrals

Private paying

Private Health Insurance

Medicare

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Participants

Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA)

WorkCover QLD

You do not need a referral to see an exercise physiologist as a private paying customer. Reach out for a FREE 15min discovery call to see if you would benefit from seeing an EP.

Some private health insurance companies will cover some of the costs of seeing an exercise physiologist. You generally do not need a referral. Reach out to your provider to confirm whether you are eligible for a rebate. HICAPS used for claiming in-session.

Patients on a Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan (Previously Enhanced Care Plan) are eligible for exercise physiology to be rebated with a valid referral. Medicare also rebates exercise physiology for patients with Type 2 Diabetes under a slightly different management scheme. These services are not bulk-billed and attract a gap fee. Consult your GP for a referral to see if you're eligible.

Exercise Physiology is covered by the NDIS under Improved Health and Well-being and Improved Daily Living. Clients who are self-managed or plan-managed can access services with me. NDIS funded exercise physiology sessions are the same price as private-paying customers with no added fees as per the NDIS guidelines.

Veterans should speak to their GP to discuss whether their health condition(s) entitles them to a DVA referral. DVA funded exercise physiology sessions do not have a gap fee and have specific requirements in alignment with the DVA's goals.

Every Work Cover, Income Protection and CTP claim is different, please contact me for specific information about handling your claim. Your claim manager or rehabilitation coordinator should also be able to advise you if exercise physiology is covered for you.
